Where does the data come from?

The „Pollen News“ app provides current pollen forecasts for Switzerland and valuable tips for pollen allergy sufferers. Regional pollen measurements, current weather data, and forecasts on the pollen count make it possible to assess the situation more accurately. The pollen information comes from the Federal Office of Meteorology and Climatology MeteoSwiss, which uses measuring systems from Swisens AG.

The pollen load/forecast display occurs by GPS location; however, the measuring stations can also be selected individually and thus independent of GPS.

What information do allergy sufferers need regarding pollen?

For allergy sufferers, it is essential to know how much the hourly pollen load is to prevent symptoms from worsening. Thus, a glance at the app is enough to know when it is better to stay behind closed windows and doors. The 3-day pollen forecast simplifies the planning of allergy sufferers who like to spend time outdoors. The app shows whether the pollen count is weak, moderate, strong or very strong. That can have a noticable impact on the symptoms of hay fever sufferers.
